DISA One Tournament 2017
5th February, Helderberg Target Archery Club
First DISA of the year is always a good experience. Unfortunately a bit of wind decided to attend. However, the crew that turned up were very eager to attend and cement friendships on the line. There were some rust that had to be gotten rid of, but a good time was had by all.
As is our norm at the DISA, a few opportunities were used to get some coaching from others on the line, without compromising their own shooting opportunity. Again Helderberg provided some goodies for sale to nourish the inner archer. The curry and rice was very flavourful and worth every cent. Personally I would not mind a bit more heat, but then I like strong. Had to stop myself from grabbing another portion. Yummy.
The event went very smoothly and although scores may have been less than at peak for some, it was an enjoyable day spent with fellow archers doing what we do best – shoot arrows. Questions were asked, lessons were learnt and the sport benefited.
Thank you to Helderberg Target Archery Club for hosting the event and setting such a positive tone for the year ahead. That scenery makes the trek out there even more worth it. It was great being there.
Till the next time we meet on a line somewhere, golden arrows to all.
