World Archery Categories

In Outdoor archery, World Archery recognise the Recurve, Standard Bow and Compound Divisions
In Indoor archery, World Archery recognise the Recurve and Compound divisions, and for
Field archery, World Archery recognise the Recurve, Compound and Barebow divisions (the World Archery Field Round is not really shot in South Africa).

In addition, the following classes are recognised;

  • 50+ Women
  • 50+ Men
  • Women
  • Men
  • Under 21 Women
  • Under 21 Men
  • Under 18 Women

Para-achery is open to athletes with a physical disability (including spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, amputee…) in three functional classes (Open, Standing, and Wheelchair)
