Western Cape Winter Indoor Challenge 2015

It was a cold Sunday winters morning but we were delighted to see the turnout, especially the new faces! The recent Nationals, other up-country events and the previous days 3D event attracted many of our regulars, so for this event they decided to sleep in. For a format that is usually dominated by compound archers, the Recurve archers made up almost half the field.
The effect was however, that we had eleven different styles participating. The beauty of the IFAA format, is that there are so many variations the archers can choose for their equipment. No matter what configuration the archer prefers – with or without sights / stabilisers / scopes / release aids etc etc. the archer will be placed in a IFAA category were he or she will not be disadvantaged.
I am also glad to report that two Western Cape IFAA records were broken. Yolandi van der Vyver broke her own junior recurve record with a new score of 219 and in the bare bow compound style, Steven Beavers set a record score of 267.
